Age of Adaline

Been meaning to watch this one; finally did! Liked it, plus gets a First Date Movie rating. This one is a lovey dovey story that has Blake Lively playing Adaline - a woman who cannot age, and her finding that special someone. It has a few twists and turns that keep you guessing. Do check it out!

Liked this one with the music genre feel, plus always liked Natalia Tena from About a Boy and Game of Thrones.

Liking this one, gets a First Date Movie rating.  Songs are in the 80s genre, and are surprisingly good! Do check this one out!

Although ratings were low, from Jerry's view this one was a good one to the point of recommending it as a "First Date" movie. Yes, there is sadness and pain but no worries, your budding relationship will not suffer if it is on a solid foundation. Check this one out when you get a chance!

Love Gauranteed

Here is one we found on Net Flicks! It's easily a safe first date movie - Love Guaranteed. Damon Wayan's Jr. hires a lawyer played by Rachel Leigh Cook to sue an online dating website - Love Guaranteed. The reason - after 1000 dates if you find love, they guarantee something... not sure what. Liking the actors and liking the story line. Do check it out! See more on IMDB.

Running From Grace

Been away from theaters due to their closure, but luckily there is the Internet. Here is one that I liked... Running from Grace! Found it by accident, has Matt Dillon and others working through issues while living in Hawaii in the early 1900s.  This one gets a first date movie rating.  No spoiler here... just check it out! Knives Out

Happy Thanksgiving  Just got back from watching Knives Out with a host of actors and actresses that are readily recognized! That said, lots of twist and turns before the reveal is revealed.

Won't go in to much detail... for more see IMDB. For now, this one is a First Date Movie! Don't miss this one. It's over two hours but did not drag... no spoilers here. Go see it!

Ford Vs Ferrari

Matt Damon and Christian Bale make a great team in the true story of Ford's quest to beat Ferrari in the "24 Hours of Le Mans" race. Matt plays Carroll Shelby - race car driver, designer, and team lead for Shelby Racing, and Christian Bale plays Kevin Miles - race car driver, designer, and mechanic for Carroll.

Great movie,... did not know the rivalry as well as inter-rivalry in the Ford Company.  Do see this one a the movies! Earns a First Date Movie Rating!

Yesterday... Good One!

Got to see an early showing of this movie. Yesterday is about an aspiring musician who is not having much success until he is hit by a bus!

When he wakes in the hospital, he soon learns after that no one knows about the Beatles and their songs!

Good one, a definite first date movie!

Ps... Burger and Fries plus an Ice-eee make it all good!

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World #firstdatemovie

Number three in the How To Train Your Dragon franchise; this one gets a First Date Movie rating! Liking #1 and #2, #3 did not disappoint! Even have a little romance to add to the mix! Do check it out!

Star is Born 2018 #firstdatemovie

Been wanting to see this one since the trailer came out months ago. Made it to the movies this past Thursday. Did not disappoint! Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were awesome; bet the sound track will be one to keep handy... easily makes the First Date Movie rating!

PS: Icee and Pizza... perfect combo for dinner and a movie!

Music from Another Room #firstdate #movie

Watched this one from Amazon Prime. Movie Jude Law and Gretchen Mol. They meet as children... newborn child in one instance. Later meet as young adults and a promise is kept to marry made by one of the two at child birth! Cool movie... easily a first date movie!  See more at IMDB!

Mama Mia 2... "Here We Go Again"

If you like the first one and can go with corny movies and musicals that have the actors breakout in song throughout the movie, then you should be good to go with this one. Same cast and characters with a missing someone that we won't say and an added someone else that we won't say either.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Another in the Jurassic franchise that brings back Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to the world with Dinosaurs. Not been following the franchise, having watched only Jurassic Park and now this movie... lots of catching up to do, but still able to follow along and enjoy the movie. Always like Chris Pratt's movies including this one! Consider this one a first date movie... see more at IMDB.

Jumanji - Welcome to the Jungle #firstdatemovie

Pleasant surprise to this sequel to Jumanji! This starts off in 1996 and takes up again in 2017. Great cast and story line. Liked how they transitioned this one to the 21st Century. Safe first date movie... do rent it when you get the chance!

New in Town

Been watching movies since we signed up for Amazon Prime. Found some older releases that are entertaining. This one has Rene Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr. as Corporate Business Woman and Union Representative, respectively. Rene is tasked with modernizing and eventually downsizing a food plant in Minnesota; Harry is there to make sure the employees are supported.

Funny and entertaining, plus it was included with an Amazon Prime account. Safe first date movie, too!

Big Sick

Movie about comedian Kumail Nanjiani and how he met his future wife. Cool movie with lots of funny parts and seriousness mixed in. Great performances by Kumail and his movie family and future movie in-law family. Do check it out; consider it a first date movie! See more on IMDB.

Despicable Me 3

Third in the animated movie franchise - Despicable Me 3, has Steve Carell back as Gru! Consider it a safe First Date Movie given its cartoon origins. That said, it's a funny movie that entertains but starting to lose its appeal. Cannot lock down a reason why other than... maintaining the franchise and appealing to new viewers may be hard. La La Land at the Cinemark at Legacy Last Night

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone together again in a vintage Cinemascope movie! This round Ryan plays Sebastian - a talented but broke jazz pianist working to save enough to open his own Jazz Club. And, Emma plays Mia - a struggling actress trying to start her career in Hollywood.

They meet briefly while in a traffic jam. Later, they bump into each other at a restaurant that Sebastian is playing piano for tips, and then again while at a party!

"Boy meets Girl, Girl meet Boy genre" continues with the two eventually becoming an
"Item" as expected.  Add the lucky breaks and eventual success, and the movie becomes storybook happiness for the two! But, it's the 21st Century; no fairy tale ending for this movie....

Had to see it at the movie theater to get the full effect.  Glad I did... this one is easily a "Safe First Date Movie".

Really liked this one even with the corny breakouts of song and dance the entire movie... it's vintage baby! Do enjoy being entertained by two great actors and check it out when you get a chance! For more on the movie, see IMDB.
