Star is Born 2018 #firstdatemovie

Been wanting to see this one since the trailer came out months ago. Made it to the movies this past Thursday. Did not disappoint! Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga were awesome; bet the sound track will be one to keep handy... easily makes the First Date Movie rating!

PS: Icee and Pizza... perfect combo for dinner and a movie!

Music from Another Room #firstdate #movie

Watched this one from Amazon Prime. Movie Jude Law and Gretchen Mol. They meet as children... newborn child in one instance. Later meet as young adults and a promise is kept to marry made by one of the two at child birth! Cool movie... easily a first date movie!  See more at IMDB!

Mission Impossible - The Fallout

Lots of twist and turns in Tom Cruise's most recent Mission Impossible. Good guys and bad guys with lots of bumps and bruises all around make for a great action movie. Liked this one as much as we liked the last one which was lots! Do check it out when you get a chance!

Equalizer 2

Denzel is back in the sequel Equalizer 2. Lots of bad guys getting in trouble, bummer on good guys lost...but always a good thing when the Equalizer is on site! Liked this one; do check it out! See more at IMDB

12 Strong

Had the DVD but kept missing on watching it. Finally, did and liked it. Interesting that is a true movie that has US Soldiers fighting bad guys on horseback. Chris Hemsworth and others make for an entertaining movie! See more at IMDB.

Mama Mia 2... "Here We Go Again"

If you like the first one and can go with corny movies and musicals that have the actors breakout in song throughout the movie, then you should be good to go with this one. Same cast and characters with a missing someone that we won't say and an added someone else that we won't say either.

Safe First Date Movie, enjoyed this one! Plus... always been an ABBA fan! For more see IMDB

Sicario: Day of Soldado #sicario2

Sequel to Sicario that has lots of action and ties drug cartels to terrorism. Great movie with Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro and others returning for round two! Would not say it's a first date movie. But, would recommend seeing it if you liked the first movie. Lots of action with shooting and bad guys dying! For more see IMDB.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Another in the Jurassic franchise that brings back Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to the world with Dinosaurs. Not been following the franchise, having watched only Jurassic Park and now this movie... lots of catching up to do, but still able to follow along and enjoy the movie. Always like Chris Pratt's movies including this one! Consider this one a first date movie... see more at IMDB.

Tag

Just finished watching the Tag movie at the theater. Movie about a group of guys playing tag into adulthood. Funny movie; really liked it. Liked it even more knowing it is based on a true story! See more on IMDB.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Another in the Star Wars franchise is Solo... to bring in Hans Solo's character. Not a big Star Wars fan but did like this one. Glad to have watched it at the movies instead of rented it. Do check it out! For more see IMDB. 

Adrift

True story that has a young couple lost at sea with no power... adrift! While crossing the ocean delivering a sailboat for an elderly couple, a hurricane crosses the young couple's path, damaging the sailboat... no engine, no sails... save for a makeshift jib.

Good movie with some interesting things to observer while the couple... more the woman than man, deal with survival at sea! The man is injured and unable to assist. Do check it out; for more see IMDB.

Dead Pool 2 #deadpool

Saw the first one liked it; saw the second one liked it, too. Ryan Reynolds and his one liners were hilarious. Add the ending credit scene, and all things come together...including the Green Lantern mistake! LOL!

While there, had to have a Waffle Cone Gelato!

Life of the Party

Movie with Melissa McCarthy as a Mom who goes back to college to complete here degree after her husband divorces her. She goes back to the same college she dropped out of after her daughter was born. Turns out it's the same college her daughter is enrolled in!

Funny moments, and a little twist and turns to keep you entertained. Would hold as a first date movie for two reasons... divorce for a budding relationship may not be good message and overall, felt it was more a rental for a rainy day, then one to see in theaters.

The Avengers - Infinity War #avengers #marvelcomics

Checked out The Avengers - Infinity War. Long movie but still good if you are a franchise fan of the Avengers. Lots of twists and turns and heroes dying... that said, there are movies planned for the future, so don't think they are all dead, yet.  Plus, the comment made by Dr. Strangelove hints towards an explanation of what happened in this movie. Bottom-line: If you are a Marvel Fan, all is well.  If not, then okay to wait for the DVD.

PS: There is a short-snippet at the end... the very end, of the credits.

The Commuter

Liam Neeson as an ex-cop turned Insurance Salesman who gets fired. On his way home, he is offered an opportunity to makes some money... find someone on the train and kill them. Good movie but had some slow spots.

Jumanji - Welcome to the Jungle #firstdatemovie

Pleasant surprise to this sequel to Jumanji! This starts off in 1996 and takes up again in 2017. Great cast and story line. Liked how they transitioned this one to the 21st Century. Safe first date movie... do rent it when you get the chance!

Tomb Raider 2018

Although Angelina Jolie was not in this movie, her replacement did well. More prequel to the others Lara Croft movies, this one did not disappoint. Liking it! Glad to see this one at the theater instead of waiting for the DVD!

Red Sparrow

Just got back from the movies. Saw Red Sparrow... Been reading the book but decided to see it to get an early jump on tHe book. Have a ways to go but picked up differences already in the movie. Still was a good movie, liked Jennifer Lawrence and others... Lots of twists and turns plus several painful scenes where blood is spilled. Glad to have seen it instead of waiting for the DVD!

Blade Runner 2049

Sequel to the original Blade Runner that has a few twist and turns to think about. Great cast with Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, and hottie Ana De Armas. Also, has Harrison Ford that adds the twist to the plot! Liked the movie; had to watch the original first before watching it, just to refresh my memory of the story line. For more see IMDB.

Only Living Boy in New York

Really liked this one with lots of twists in turns in a love triangle movie with lots of great actors... Jeff Bridges, Pierce Brosnan, Kate Beckinsale... and a lead played by Callum Turner. Do check this one out! For more, see IMDB

Foreigner

Jackie Chan in a different role... more serious than other movies he is in. Did a great job playing the grieving father... timid and sorrowful on the outside but a total bad ass! See more at IMDB

Snatched

Rented this one and was pleasantly surprised! Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn team together in a movie about a daughter and mother on vacation but something goes wrong... funny stuff. For more see IMDB

What If

Liking this one.. "What If" with Harry Potter - Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan from "The Big Sick". Won't go into detail other than I liked it... for more, see IMDB.

The Girl on the Train

This one has Emily Blunt playing an alcoholic ex-wife who has been "stalking" on our ex-husband and his new wife. Starts out slow but picks up, and then the action moves quickly to an end that makes sense... check it out on a rainy day and rent it. For more, see IMDB

Soul Assasin

Gutted through this one while working out on the treadmill. Movie that has the main character dealing with twists and turns related to a company he works for... surprises here and there, and lots of shooting but still felt the movie was lacking something. Would not recommend as a first date movie; would recommend skipping it. For more see IMDB.

Manchester By the Sea

Watched this one while working out on the treadmill. Pleasant surprise about a hard luck story of the lead played by Casey Affleck. Issues with own marriage after a tragic accident, then later more issues with his brother's death. For more see IMDB....
